HV Engineering was responsible for the Plumbing design of this 300 unit multistory parking/apartment structure. The project consisted of two levels of parking, with three 4 & 5 story residential structures built on top of the “Podium deck”. A central boiler plant provided domestic hot water heating. This project was built under King Co. HUD requirements as a low-income housing project. Since the project was so large it developed a daycare into the lower level of one of the buildings and had significant office space in another one of the buildings. The project was unique in that much of the design work occurred during construction with architectural designs being provided just a month before the actual concrete pour of various floors of the project. This was the result of changed ownership of the project and revised priorities during the construction phase of the project.
